2nd Annual Sports Card Show Benefits Special Olympics

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 18, 2025, as the 2nd Annual Sports Card Show arrives at the Martin Public Library Event Center in Martin, Tenn. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this event promises a vibrant display of sports cards, spanning vintage classics to the latest releases.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the hobby, the show offers a chance to browse through a diverse selection of cards from various sports and eras. Engage with passionate dealers and collectors eager to share their knowledge while you explore and potentially uncover hidden gems to enhance your collection.

Beyond the thrill of card hunting, this event holds a deeper significance by supporting the Special Olympics of Upper West Tennessee. The funds raised will benefit over 400 athletes in Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, and Carroll counties. These proceeds ensure that athletes with intellectual disabilities have access to sports training and competitions throughout the year.

The mission of the Special Olympics of Upper West Tennessee extends beyond sports, aiming to promote inclusivity and provide opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. By fostering physical fitness and courage, the organization creates a space where athletes can showcase their skills, form friendships, and engage with their community.

Moreover, the Special Olympics strive to remove economic barriers, ensuring that every athlete can participate fully. Through sports, individuals with intellectual disabilities are encouraged to thrive, grow, and gain recognition within society, empowering them to become valued members of their communities.
