Topps Launches NCAA March Madness Basketball Card Series

March Madness is not only about buzzer-beaters and bracket busters but also about capturing the essence of the game through a unique lens. Topps, a name synonymous with collectible sports cards, has forged a partnership with the NCAA to introduce its inaugural March Madness Basketball Card Series. A delightful treat for avid basketball card collectors, this series offers packs containing a total of eight cards, each priced at $139.99.

The highlight of each pack is a guaranteed autograph card from a stellar lineup of college basketball talent. The roster includes the likes of Zach Edey, the men’s Player of the Year from Purdue, and Caitlin Clark, the women’s Player of the Year. In addition to the autograph card, the pack features six base cards and one parallel card, numbered to 99 or fewer, adding a touch of exclusivity to the collection.

Available for purchase until Thursday exclusively through Topps’ official website, these packs hold the promise of surprise, with dual autograph cards making a special appearance in one out of every ten packs. The excitement continues as collectors eagerly anticipate unwrapping their packs to reveal hidden gems from the world of college basketball.

The series pays homage to some of the most prominent figures in college basketball, featuring a curated list of just 20 athletes who have graciously agreed to be featured. The Bowman U NOW March Madness series showcases a talented lineup of both male and female players, bringing a perfect blend of diversity and skill to the collectors’ world.

On the men’s side, standout players like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and a host of other talented individuals grace the cards. For the women’s lineup, stars such as Cameron Brink from Stanford, Aaliyah Edwards from UConn, and Paige Bueckers from UConn shine bright, adding a touch of grace and finesse to the series.

Noteworthy dual autographs further elevate the excitement of the series, with pairings like Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, and Sheppard/Dillingham offering collectors a chance to own rare and special cards that celebrate the essence of teamwork and talent.

Caitlin Clark’s presence in the Topps card series comes with a time limit, as her exclusive trading card agreement with Panini America will mark the conclusion of her feature on April 1. The collaboration with the NCAA allows Topps to infuse the iconic March Madness logo and branding into their products, setting the stage for future collaborative ventures that promise to captivate collectors worldwide.

With over 120 Bowman U cards released throughout the season on the Topps NOW platform, including multiple features of standout players like Caitlin Clark, the series stands as a testament to the enduring allure of college sports in the world of collectors. The vibrant energy and raw talent of college athletes breathe new life into the traditional Topps Bowman University line, enriching the collector’s experience and creating lasting memories through the art of sports card collecting.
