NFL Playoff Quarterbacks’ Rookie Cards Soar in Auction Value

As the NFL playoffs heat up, the quarterbacks taking center stage on the field are also making waves in the world of sports collectibles. The rookie cards of these talented players are experiencing a surge in value, attracting high bids in online auctions. Among the quarterbacks whose cards are in high demand are Patrick Mahomes II of the Kansas City Chiefs, Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, and Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions.

In the AFC Championship game, fans are treated to a thrilling matchup between Patrick Mahomes, a two-time Super Bowl champion, and Lamar Jackson, who is currently leading the race for the 2023 NFL MVP award. On the other side of the field, the NFC Championship game features Brock Purdy and Jared Goff, both ranked in the top five for passing yards and touchdowns this season, battling it out for a spot in the Super Bowl.

While these quarterbacks compete for a chance to play in the Super Bowl, their rookie cards are garnering attention in the world of sports memorabilia. On eBay, collectors are placing high bids on these rare items. One standout card is a 2017 autographed Panini National Treasures Black card of Patrick Mahomes, which sold for an impressive $19,300 on 62 bids. Another notable Mahomes card, a 2017 signed Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket card graded BGS 9.5, fetched $16,577 from 51 bids.

It seems that Purdy’s rookie cards consistently reach five-figure prices, such as a 2022 National Treasures signed patch card graded PSA 9, which garnered $15,000 on 53 bids.

Lamar Jackson, known for his electrifying playstyle, is no stranger to the spotlight. His rookie cards have caught the attention of collectors as well. Another sought-after Jackson item, a 2018 National Treasures autographed patch card numbered #27/99 and graded BGS 9.5, fetched $18,000 on 39 bids.

Despite a mixed start with the Los Angeles Rams and subsequent improvement with the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff’s cards are also gaining momentum.
